Warehouse Operative, Ossett

Job Description

THE ROLE: The Warehouse Operative will be expected to pick orders for company vehicles as well as load and unload company, customer and supplier vehicles. 

CANDIDATE: Due to the extremely fast paced environment the successful candidate needs to be willing to work well under pressure and have recent experience of driving a forklift truck with a current license. They must also be reliable with good organisational skills and be comfortable assisting customers.  They also need to have the right attitude, being willing to help and go that extra mile.  The successful candidate would ideally have experience of working in a builder’s merchants.  However, having good product knowledge on a range of building materials and experience of working in a warehouse/yard environment would be an advantage. 

THE PACKAGE: Benefits include 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, annual PRP Bonus, option to buy or sell holidays and life insurance among others.  The normal working week will be Monday to Friday.

Builders Merchant Apprentice, York

Job Description

THE ROLE: A Builders Merchant Apprentice would be expected to learn all aspects of working within a builder’s merchant spending time working in both the Warehouse and Sales Office including time on the trade counter.  They would also be required to develop their knowledge of the products sold as well as learning about building relationships with customers and suppliers.

DUTIES:  Within the sales office the successful candidate will assist the more experienced sales people within the team, raising orders and inputting information on the computer system as well as serving customers and answering telephones. During their time in the Warehouse, they will load/unload customer and supplier vehicles and pick orders for James Burrell vehicles. 

CANDIDATE: We are looking for smart, presentable individuals who are enthusiastic to learn and develop their knowledge and skills.  As a company we have a proven track record of developing apprentices into more Senior Roles so this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a long-term career and shows aptitude and commitment to the role.   

In return we offer the right candidates full support and training, as well as 27 days holidays per year, a Monday to Friday working week. Starting salary will be £10,500.00 per annum, to be reviewed as the successful candidate progresses.

Sales Apprentice, Ossett

Job Description

THE ROLE: A Sales Apprentice within our contract sales office will work as part of an experienced team to learn all aspects of working within contract sales.  During your apprenticeship you will develop your knowledge of the products sold as well as learning about building relationships with customers and suppliers. 

DUTIES: The successful candidate will assist the Key Account Managers by:

  • processing customer orders and enquiries
  • placing orders with suppliers
  • learning how to price tenders
  • general office administration

Transport Planner, Ossett

Job Description

KEY DUTIES AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE: As Transport Planner you will manually plan next day deliveries ensuring maximum volume is delivered each day via the branches 6 LGV vehicles in to a designated delivery area. Liaising with our sales teams to ensure all targets and deliveries are met, scheduling of work is accurate, up to date and achievable whilst also monitoring of vehicle gross weights is undertaken and compliant.

Ensure that vehicle management, including liaison with the Company Transport Manager to arrange the servicing and repair of vehicles, ensuring that all administrative tasks associated with the operation are completed to the required standard as well as assisting with daily operational problems.

You will also be required to work with the team to book goods received onto the computer system, liaise with suppliers and the purchasing department regarding shortages, damages or returned goods. Create customer invoices from the delivery notes, amend shortages on delivery notes

CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must have proven experience of manually planning loads, along with knowledge of the local area and transport legislation. The ability to plan, organise and problem solve is essential as well as being resilient and having a can-do attitude.

Knowledge of Transport Planning software, Microsoft Outlook and experience within a builders merchant and good product knowledge on a range of building materials would also be an advantage.

Goods in/Transport Planning Assistant, Ossett

Job Description

THE ROLE: For goods in you will book goods received onto the computer system, liaise with suppliers and the purchasing department regarding shortages, damages or returned goods. Create customer invoices from the delivery notes, amend shortages on delivery notes and work alongside the Stock Controller regarding adjustments, stock control and Chain of Custody.

As a Transport Planning Assistant, you will assistant the Transport Planner organising the next day deliveries of customer orders in a designated delivery area, create Drivers log sheets, clarify delivery addresses and timed drops with the sales team as well as liaise with the company transport department to arrange the servicing and repair of vehicles. You will be expected provide cover to the Transport Planner during holidays.

CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must have the ability to plan, organise and problem solve as well as having a can-do attitude. Previous experience of transport planning is essential and previous experience of goods in is desirable.

Goods In, Stock Control & Transport Supervisor, Morpeth

Job Description

THE ROLE: As Goods in you will book goods received onto the computer system, liaise with suppliers and the purchasing department regarding shortages, damages or returned goods.  Create customer invoices from the delivery notes, amend shortages on delivery notes and make adjustments to stock where necessary. 

As Stock Controller you will manage and coordinate perpetual stock takes to ensure the stock inventory is correct at all times.  You will maintain and improve performance levels to maximise the accuracy of stock figures, you will investigate any issues and communicate this information to the Logistics Manager.  As well as booking goods into stock, maintaining stock locations and making sure stock is rotated.

As Transport Supervisor you will plan the next day deliveries of customer orders via LGV vehicles in a designated delivery area, clarify delivery addresses and timed drops with the sales team as well as liaise with the Company Transport Manager to arrange the servicing and repair of vehicles.
