The team at our Morpeth branch continue to support the local community by recently donating timber to the 4th Morpeth Scouts. The materials were used for the group to make bird boxes to put out in the community providing safe and warm bases for the local wildlife to flourish.
Ellen Glynn, Scout Leader, said:
"We have over 260 young people who take part in our programme every week and our activities focus around learning and developing life skills. The donation of the timber was part of their creative challenge but had an element of learning to take care of our wildlife. Our Monday night group, which consists of 30 young people, all went away with completed bird boxes to put up at home or school!"
John Robinson, Sales Office Manager at our Morpeth branch said:
"James Burrell always look to support the local community that surround their branches and when we opened the Morpeth site in September 2018, we wanted to ensure that this continues. We were delighted to be able to support the 4th Morpeth Scouts with their creative programme and to contribute towards teaching the younger generation of Morpeth vital life lessons."
We love being able to make a positive impact on our local community, whether that be something big or something small. If you head over to our Facebook page you'll find our latest opportunity for the chance to receive a £250 donation of building materials. We're looking for nominations for a cause you think would really benefit from the opportunity to receive these materials. A friend, a school, a local cause, all that matters is that we are making a difference in the local community. All you need to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know the cause and why you think they deserve to win. Nominations close on Friday 5th April.
