Welcome to the team, Rob Shaw

We caught up with Rob to find out a bit more about his new role in our Rotherham team as well as a little bit more about the experience he has built up over his time in the industry. 
 

What is your job role?

Branch Sales at the Rotherham Branch.

What does a normal day in the role involve?

A normal day for me involves serving customers on the trade counter, answering supplier and customer phone calls, and creating / chasing down quotes. Also, making the odd brew and having a good laugh with the guys in the office.

A bit of an insight on your career so far, have you worked in construction before? If not, what did you do prior to joining James Burrell.

I have over 25 years’ experience in the Builders Merchant Industry, I have held various positions over the years from Sales Assistant to Branch Manager gaining valuable knowledge along the way.

What is your favourite thing about the company so far?

My favourite thing about the company so far is the team spirit and friendliness of the staff.

What does your perfect weekend look like?

My perfect weekend would be spending quality time with my wife and daughter. Having worked weekends for many years it’s taking some time to get used to the fact I don’t any more, I still have to pinch myself that I’m not working on a Saturday!
