Helping with the construction of Morpeth's Pegswood Community Garden

We were delighted to be able to donate materials to help with the construction of the newest eye catching feature in Morpeth, the Pegswood Community Garden.

Centred in the heart of the village, the garden has been designed to reflect the area's heritage, coal mining and brickworks.

We were able to supply a whole host of materials to this specific job in the local town of one our branches. Amongst the materials that were supplied included 24no made to order sleepers. These were positioned within the garden to reflect the 24 fathoms depth of the first coal shaft that was sunk in the village. Within the garden there is a range of seating and many themed flowers throughout including iris coal seams and canary bird roses.

It's great to be able to help out with community projects and help to develop the local communities surrounding our James Burrell branches. We hope that the garden is used by as many of the local community, as well as visitors to the region as possible, to take advantage of this lovely town and what it can offer.
